Tips on Making Your Travel Cheap

Are you dreaming about travelling in your country or abroad but not yet even trying it because of your tight budget? Well, here are the tips on how your first and next travels will be cheap.

  1. Know your Destination. Before travelling on more costly places, search for the nearest or any local tourist spots in your own country. Appreciate your homeland first.

  2. Know its culture and Capitals. Check in the internet or social medias the main beautiful spots on the certain area you’ll be visiting and know if you are going to enjoy their culture and traditions.

  3. Check Availability. Go online bookings, either you’ll be riding bus, cabs, ship, boat or a plane. Don’t concentrate on the first result when you search in google, you might miss the chance of getting lowest fares on the least result engine. Then check your calendar for you time availability and make sure of the departure and return dates! You might be charged extra if you’ll make some changes with the booking details. Book directly online or personally on the airline or ship line as you’ll be charged more if you’ll ask travel agencies, of course they have their fees. Remember, there’s differences with the fares everyday so consider also the cost of the nearby date on your travel because you might have the lowest cost, there’s no big deal on switching dates before paying the fees as long as you can manage your own time.

  4. Search for 3 or 2 stars Hotel or Villas. Look for any online booking website where you can book your accommodation by your own without paying prepayment or cancellation fees! All you have to do is fill up the dates, days of stay and if necessary, some visa or master card details only as guarantee that you’ll be charged if you’ll not show up or cancel your booking 3 days prior before the first night of stay. So be aware of the policies. Normally, hotels are charging some fees if you’ll be cancelling your booking 3 days before scheduled check in. Add 10 to 15 percent of the cost for tax and services, this is normal so don’t be upset with the hotels. Don’t book a unit with a lot of amenities! Remember, you’ll be there to visit the place, not to stay at the hotel. Include only one meal which maybe breakfast, lunch or dinner buffet.

  5. Install Google Map or Any Map Applications in your Mobile. Do not forget to bring your phone along with your power bank as you’ll be using this as your best guide to get into your destination. This may help you to budget your cost of stay as this will show you cab fares, train fares possible rates and the duration of transportation from one place to another so you’ll be saving time and money! Never tell the taxi drivers that you are new to the place for you to avoid more charges on the taxi. Always bring your phone map so you can monitor if the driver is taking a short cut or long road with heavy or not traffics.

  6. Take the Friendly Cost Meals. Don’t eat to the most expensive restaurants in your destination as you are there to see the best views and not to eat. Buy their street or cafeteria foods which can be found originally on that certain spot. Eat heavily in the hotel buffet.

  7. Do not buy a lot of Souvenirs. Buy only key chain, ref magnets or any other useful but cheap souvenir s which are originally made from that certain place. Don’t buy a lot as you’ll be having election campagne. Remember, give your family and closest friends cheap items only as they’ll appreciate you already with simple things. Never buy for the whole neighborhood.

Well, these are my tips for now as I didn’t travel yet outside Asia. I’ll update you for more tips soon when I used to experience more travel adventures. I hope this article will help you on your travel plans. Have a safe trip! Enjoy!
